The 301 does not provide Union backing or job security. The Union allows the company to change negotiations mid contract to save jobs for a few months. This Union is in the company’s pocket because at the end of an agreement the layoff still happens. The Work in 273 is dried up and more members just stand around. Each shift is ran different day shift the shop is treated like dog doo.

How hard will a person work at their job if they believe their job has job security? Job security clearly means there are no possibilities of losing it. If "security" had a different meaning, nobody would talk about layoffs and job security in the same sentence. The problem is that people obviously have this fairy tale belief that after they put in the effort to get hired, there should be job security so that they no longer should have to put in any effort. I bet you all let yourselves go after getting married as well. Your refund will be waiting for you outside the door on your way out. If you've been d-mb enough to believe all the lip service you've received up till now, then you'll believe you're entitled to a refund as well.
Close the Hall.
🤔 not that I’d disagree, but as a union we have failed ourselves. We have continued to support these jokers in the hall. We’ve had multiple candidates step up , willing to lead this local for the members. Yet we allow the same people to remain in positions to speak, represent, on the memberships behalf. Things will never change , if the same faces remain. I want 15+ years worth of dues back - if we can make it happen
Backing! The only thing the Union is doing is backing up and letting the company have whatever they please.
Many would agree. This might be a good time to de-certify. Do you thing we could get the votes?
This is a union shop? Hahaha. Union are a thing of the past. It’s being proved everyday by the company.
Stick it out. If you quit you cannot receive going away benefits. So if you don’t like it quit doesn’t make sense.
So go to the Layoff meeting tomorrow and ask for a refund.
I know where union shops don’t layoff there are many jobs out there like that. Also the company works with the union on keeping the membership happy and productive. Waiting for my layoff here so I can get my buyout and jump ship. Give me my layoff already GE
Not sure why you think being in a union would prevent you from being laid off. When companies need to reduce costs, reduction in force is always an option, whether you're in a union or not. The alternatives would be cutting everyone's pay to achieve the cost reduction... or shutting down. Layoff's will happen. Period.
