What percentage of people do you think will go to Midland, and how many will prefer to receive severance?

Sounds like it wasn’t even an option to most.
Families with children should take into account the cost of sending their children to Trinity. Public schools in Midland are just awful.
There is a high probability of not working in this industry again if you don’t move.
Top 10 Reasons to not want to work here at COP 1) inept arrogant management. 2) woke culture focused on their ever changing views of what is virtuous. 3) broken performance management system focused only on the elite hi pots. 4) lack of experience at the leadership level particularly in Permian operations JV squad 5) unwillingness to take risks. 6) lop sided compensation system that drives bad decisions for the company. 7) non-productive and ineffective obsession with safety optics. 8) no sense of belonging, loyalty or company culture other than stab others in the back before they stab you. 9) lack of opportunity. 10) it’s depressing to work here
Is it you… HR?! LOL
Selling us a cr---y life ahead ;-)
I think everyone saying “Don’t try in the interview “ and “ don’t move to Midland” are trying to sabotage the competition 😂😂
TRUST NO ONE! This is the Squid Games, Dutch version 😜😜
Decent houses are $450k plus and your kids will have to go to private schools in Midland-Odessa. Definitely not worth moving to Midland!!
Do not take the offer and regret later.
Shell employees don’t make the mistake of accepting a Permian offer in the Midland-Odessa shithole. Oil is $80 and there is no need to ruin your life by moving to Midland.
The asset can be run from Houston but I doubt COP will do it
The market is hot for blue collar work and service sector. Most operators are still over staffed. Especially majors
A lot of people here have never worked another job outside Shell. Upper middle class sheltered white kids who went to A&M who then interned and worked for Shell. They have never faced adversity or had to take risks their whole lives. Curious how they handle this.
Shell blows- so either you entertain a COP offer- which is better than Brit/Dutch managers or leave
I hear many folks are intentionally bo----g the COP interview so they can go through MOR and ensure a package.
Let’s be real here - Midland blows
10 or 20% will go to Midland at best. The rest will go through MOR and buy more time to find another job in Houston and leave with severance. The market is hot with WTI at 80 USD. COP doesn't have power in the negotiation
Your preferences are only as good as your options
