GA has job openings posted in San Diego. Does GA consider people who do not reside in Calif to fill jobs? Looks pretty tough to finding affordable housing in SD though.

GA will hire outside the area and the cost of living in SD is high so one must be aware of that. GA does pay below market value and the benefits are average. A lot of the people at GA come from companies that offered no benefits so people don’t know what they don’t know. No one will get rich working for GA but the benefit is you can be lazy as heck and no one will tell you anything. You can take naps miss all deadlines and still be viewed as a good employee. Just don’t outshine anyone and you will be okay.
I had been d-mb and accepted a job offer at GA in SD. I came to SD from out of state. Once I arrived in SD I struggled to find any affordable place to live. I have no debts, car payments or alimony to pay. I slept in my car and joined a gym and worked out and showered before work. I went to a laundry-mat to wash my cloths on the weekend. I did this for three weeks. I finally told my GA manager what I had been doing and that I could not afford a place to live in SD on my GA salary and was worried I would have to live in a tent like homeless people do. My GA manager thought it was all funny and laughed out loud there in front of me. The next day I gave my GA manager a one week notice. Told GA manager again it was impossible to live in SD on a GA salary.
GA pays its workers peanuts and bad peanuts too, so good luck affording San Deigo. This is normal since GA is getting back to its roots of being a 99 cent store. GA sells cheap products, which brake easily.
