Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Burnout Before Thanksgiving Anyone?

Anyone else have the people in their stores burning out already because of the lack of help and all of the fulfillment, signing, trucks, regional visits, and nasty customers coming into stores? The only feedback we get is why aren't you making sales from 2019? Why are you not filling all your jobs? Why can't you do all your fulfillment? Why can't you keep up with curbside orders? Why is your NPS so low?

Everyone seems to think and act like the pandemic is over and our stores are fully staffed, people are actually willing to work for starvation wages, and our stores have more than just a bunch of cheap home goods. Customers are unpleasant and treat us like servants and we get nothing but complaints and questions from "leaders" on Teams calls sitting at home using office backgrounds but you can still see their pets in the background when they move around.

Does anyone running this place have an idea of how unpleasant it is working with the public is in today's world. How about how unrealistically hard we are working to try to keep up with daily picks and just keeping merch off the floor when we have over 100 open jobs going into Black Friday? How much would it cost to just get off our backs for a few weeks and not constantly be pushing and complaining?

We had a regional visit this week and just stopped doing fulfillment so everyone could work on cleaning up the store. We had almost 4000 orders waiting in the morning and we did hardly any of them so we get ready for the visit, and then they walked the store and didn't even talk to anyone. Our DVP was so nervous that he was sweating like crazy and none of the visitors looked happy. How crazy that we are doing these visits when we should be focusing on the orders and doing business.

Hey Jeff Gannett why don’t you have your lazy regional managers working in the stores this weekend? They walk around and do nothing on their visits . Give them a scanner and llet them see what it is like to work with antique technology and equipment that don’t work. Let’s see how many pics they can do in an hour.
Better yet teach your sales leaders to work instead of walking past a pile of merchandise on the floor or racks of clothes waiting to be sorted and placed back on the floor. The sales leaders are absolutely useless. They sit in their office and don’t return calls when they are needed. We don’t need them to walk around smiling and telling us everything will be alright. Put these lazy people to work.

Worked today doing fulfillment and curbside pickup and only 5 of 10 people scheduled showed up. We had three people quit (guess they didn't feel like waiting until May for a raise to $15 an hour when they could get a job at Belk making $16 an hour today). At least we go some cheap pizza and time and half, didn't even come close to finishing, people better order their gifts early if they want to get them before Christmas.

My manager and office assistant straight out lie about the 15 dollars an hour. Meanwhile the people that they are hiring are all bragging about the 15 dollars they were hired at.
We have temps from an employment agency working on the dock making 18 dollars an hour. This does not include the fee they are paying to the employment agency.
Macy’s has money to burn and waste on employment agencies but can’t pay the loyal workers who worked through the pandemic 15 dollars. ????
This has led me to find another job at 17 dollars. Goodbye Macy’s! They will find out I quit Black Friday morning when I don’t show up.
This company does not deserve the courtesy of a notice.

How about the new hires getting paid $5 to $10 more than you and bragging about it. "I collected unemployment as long as I could....now I'm getting $$ to come back ...." what about the loyal employees that have been there working all this time during pandemic with no pay increase??? When I asked a manager about this they said in May there will be an increase.... and you will get 25cents in January...really???

I hate my current position right now. And I feel like 💩 that I take what’s put upon me because it’s a job with benny’s. It’s more important that I process a truck or do fulfillment or ring than what I signed up for originally.
If I have to hear about we’re a team or I appreciate you stepping out of you comfort zone or… I think am going to 🤮
