Wall Street Grudgingly Allows Remote Work as Bankers Dig In
This will ultimately prove to be an even bigger cause of attrition economy-wide than the mandates. Workers have proven over the last ~2 years they can get the work done remotely, companies (maybe not IBM) are making record profits, but Boomer middle managers need to see butts in seats to feel important.
It’s like they want the employees that are left to quite.
- Most people want to WFH
- WFH was offered as a Covid shot accommodation
- Some people still want masks to be mandatory regardless of shot status
Seems like a nightmare. I can’t wait to see these guidelines.
