I used to worry about being cut and I was very anxious, but now I am completely calm. It’s not worth worrying about something that can’t be changed. Moreover, I think I would like to be on the layoff list because I am sick of this company without any vision and bad management. Whoever of my colleagues I talk to about it, everyone says if that was to happen they would finally get some much needed relief.

I agree with the other sentiments. I left and feel much better now, no longer waiting for half my team to get laid off (that was done in May 2021). I think the only long term or semi-long term people who are left are either staying because they are close to retirement and hoping to hang on until that point or people that assume they can't find other 100% remote jobs. Trust me, there are tons out there and you would probably be surprised how much of a raise you can get. Get your resume updated and start looking. It is 1000% more comfortable looking for a job when you aren't desperate for one because you are unemployed.
While I was waiting through another Holiday season with anticipation of more cuts, I reached out to a peer of mine (non SG) who achieved many milestones compared to me... I left the conversation with a burning question from this individual that I will post for all of you as it is relevant to all of us at SG. Question goes something like this: "What is your downside if you left SG? If it is only 90k (replace with your salary #) plus benefits, what are the chances you'll land another job elsewhere at 90k or 75k. Highly likely. What upside (opportunities) are you forgoing while staying put and letting SG take you out? You are missing out on the infinite possibilities." Everyone's answers will be different and you don't have to reply. It's a good thought to have while you are still at SG.

If you feel like that, just leave. Find a new job on your own terms instead of being caught by surprise at some random time.
Anonymous....you have a choice. Why are you waiting for something to happen TO you rather than making something happen FOR you?
