My son in law got a mailing from UPRR today stating that UP is hiring and they "want him back on the team." It wasn't a personalized mailing so I'd imagine it went out to everyone who has quit in the last few years. My SIL walked in and quit three years ago after being an mechanical service operator for a short time. We had a mass exodus of new hires during that period and I told him he should stick it out because things would get better. I thought he was a fool! Shortly after they closed the shop and got rid of everyone else! Now he has a job for the county working day shift four days a week with you guessed it, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off with better insurance and the same hourly rate. Long story short, I was wrong. Why anyone would want to come back to such a toxic work environment I will never know! UPRR must be getting desperate asking former employees to return. Just wait until January forth. You reap what you sew Lance!

They can't even hire the EX cons that are paroled out in CA from Newsomes COVID release.
They are to busy hitting the pookey and smoking crystal and weed and don't care...
Stimulus and other entitilements.
I'd never go back to that toxic sh*thole.
Getting furloughed used to just be part of the deal, it was understood.
But PSR changed the game and their plan was to permanently eliminate jobs, whole shops. Only the most desperate would come back even if they haven't found anything better. It's a complete $ h i t show.
Can't find new TE&Y? well ge-z...who wants to start a job that the company is actively trying to eliminate?
reap it.
UP sucks, and everyone knows it except upper management because they’re delusional.
They should start wooing current employees. I’m thinking with pay raises to begin with, then stop treating employees like second class citizens. Lots of other jobs starting to catch with incentives, pay, quality of life, etc.
They are getting desperate. That should be obvious to everyone by now. They screwed up badly by letting a bunch of people go. Someone else posted that they probably didn't plan on those people not coming back when they were called. I got something in the mail from the UP too, but I never opened it. I put it right in the trash. The UP played with fire, and now they're getting burned. They were told this would happen. They ignored it, and went on like it was no big deal. So yeah its going to get interesting to see how it plays out
