Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Anxiety & Uncertainty

Those of us with low service need answers, and some reassurance from the union & company that we will have some stability moving into ‘22. We need to know if someone will be pushing for more work? Will there be layoffs & if so why are we delaying it with little to no work in the shop? Why not lay off while there are still jobs paying close to or more the our C rate wages & offer benefits often better?
We’d also love to know the truth, the history about the two tier pay system, it’s origin and who actually pushed for it and supported it. Seems it was the current BA’s Father , who was the BA at that time ? Why?? And if true why is this membership continuing to support “the same type of leadership “ ? We want answers if we are to be laid off, we want information, we want reps to start doing their jobs - jobs they wanted. We want a Reps that will lead and push for us - we want strong, fair representation for the dues we sacrifice in pay. I’ve personally sacrificed nearly 10 yrs in dues , for what? What kind of union is this,what have we gotten in return. Tiring watching this jokers only work for , and promoting their loser pals into Union ranks. Embarrassing & disgusting

Bye bye 301. I can’t say it’s been nice but I can say watching all of you crooks get what you deserve will worth it. Fake tough guys aren’t so tough when they’re up against someone with a brain. I can’t wait until they find out who put this sh-t together and handed it over to the Feds. Who ultimately took them all down like the cherry on top. RM and SF couldn’t pretend to be Union guys as well as the previous guys did. Those boys are too pretty.

NO layoffs in 2022. In fact, there will be head count additions on the 301 and salary side in 2022. The amount of labor that is now solidly on the books is the reason for this. 301 leadership knows this, as usual no work put into putting rumors to bed from leadership. Fed this, Fed that, is actually coming, and it will only help the labor cause in Schenectady NY, because those that don't wanna work and the officials that support that, will be the ones the most shocked and some removed for good.

Different board member on 3rd now, he’s pals with the BA. He’s slightly taller too, not by much. Most of 3rd shift doesn’t or didn’t know he’s the BM now, not really a presence like the last couple of guys that actually did the job from what we hear.anyway fingers crossed that the Feds that we keep hearing about get the job done here soon and take out all the trash.

It will end when the feds finally show up. All in the hall will end up under indictment, even those who didnt physically do wrong. Claiming ignorance does not get a pass in court. The Feds will step in and take control of the bargaining group, since the national is also involved, there may not be a "union" for a bit. The only way to fix this is to wipe out all thats bad, install neutral and law abiding individuals. All of those that continue to slander those involved in the investigation, you too will also pay a price, there are laws against those actions as well. Sure there will still be a core group of id--ts that think the facts are just not possible, but in the end it wont matter what they think, the law is the law. Rest assured, it wont just be those active hall officers and members, those currently happily collecting their pensions, and living off our dime, they too will pay a hefty price, and they deserve it as well. Here's to hoping this comes to a-head, prior to the 17th of this month, no better way to celebrate the holiday than seeing the criminal empire come crashing down. Hope the D and F families have been making plans, there non union family members will need a plan, when they are broke and visiting a federal prison to see relatives and buddies!

Lewis73 are you saying the BA is trying to slide the 3rd shift Board member into services? The same that ran against him in the last election? Really short guy , has a strange name? As for the supposed other guy, everyone knows him and his story. Why would CD help him?
This is and will be the main reason 301 has come undone, people in these positions prioritizing putting/helping their pals and riff raff into positions they do not deserve. So stupid , yet predictable. When will it end

Well today’s rumor seems to have the BA finally doing something! Jobs will be protested! He is working diligently not only to protect jobs but to ensure the people he is working for also get moved into service positions. Relax brothers and sisters he’s working for his pals again, surprisingly at least 2 people on 3rd have the union working to save & advance their positions. Coming into the shop in the morning to stories like this , make it worth while at this dog & pony show!
If this doesn’t boil your blood , and make you sick and want change , nothing will.
What a list of accomplishments so far, moving his buddies to the national, protecting and helping his slug pals in the shop. AMAZING

Or you can get up each day, have a job to go too, work daily, stay away from the water cooler, receive a weekly paycheck and hope with the sell of energy a new employer cares enough to micromanage in order to stabilize your workplace and keep you on. The sell might be a blessing in disguise and exactly what is needed.

If you've been at GE for any considerable length of time, then you must obviously know by now that the continuing narrative on the future job load and employment issues changes at any given moment that is advantageous to only the
bean counters and fat cats at the top of the heap.
Union or not, "THEY" will tell you what makes this Sinking Corporate Ship look good to others on the outside, and therefore will definitely determine that any influx in numbers is,,,
"For The Best Of The Company !"
Nothing will change, especially now that DeGenerate Eclectic is finally being split up !
So, the moral of this never ending sad story is,,,

When I worked there I voted for the clean slate. 90 percent of the other goobers just voted for the same old same old. And it will never change. I left and couldn't be happier trust me that money exists elsewhere good luck.

T-rate “side” agreements were pushed in all GE Local Unions around 2011. Either shutdown or stay open and we’ll give you additional work and more less-paid workers to work next too and you can divide and fight each other on the plant floor. There are history articles as to what happens when different rate scales are accepted at a workplace. Exactly what happened to you and all the GE plants. You are just scr-wed like them.

Get really good at a job the business really needs. Then, if and when you go on strike, it will have some impact and you'll have a say. I'm sure the business would rather be dealing with a union that had high productivity, even if it meant the union had them over a financial barrel.

Answer to the T-Rate deal was pretty damn close to accurate. As a retiree who was there, who worked with the sitting brass of 301 at that time for years. Yes , the membership was threatened with job cuts as always. The real bamboozaling went on between the company and the local union leadership, certain “officials” gained a lot to push & sell the deal to the membership- The “White Snake” & Loose Cannon BA at that time are the main characters to thank for that deal. You really can’t blame the membership that may have went along with it at the time as they were Sold on the idea -“That’s how we’d save jobs.”
You may have had decent candidates to oppose the “BROOD” - encourage them to run again,, if the passion & interests remain. My question from what I see & hear - seems what remains of 301 is in shambles and controlled by company puppets and meat heads… Can it be saved? If so choose men who will not only challenge & push back against the company, but also the National

To answer your question about the T rate deal. The leadership was bullshitted by GE. If they didnt get folks to agree/vote for it, there would be massive layoffs in Schenectady NY. The leadership wasnt smart enough to see the veiled threats for what they where, BS threats. The leadership then sold the membership on this deal. The majority was afraid of hitting the street, so they voted for it. After that, when it was realized they had been bamboozled, they didnt have a clue how to address it with GE. So they continued to give false hope that they would get it changed. There was no way in he-l it was ever gonna change, and thats why it still hasnt! Union busting 101, divide the membership of the union. The 301 has succeeded in doing just that. In fact they have gone even further than that, they have instilled a work ethic that is not even laughable. The only ones to blame for the lack of work in Schenectady NY on the hourly side is, Local 301 and its membership. So there is a truthful answer and even more insight. Keep in mind, when the sh-t storm is over soon, you may make more money an hour, but you prob wont be a union worker at GE Schenectady. So be careful what ya wish for, in the end, the desire may not be what reality turns out to be.

I thought we actually had better candidates in this past election, opposed to the previous elections we’ve had since I’ve been part of 301, way better - they lost of course but the same click remains. Thanks for the honesty- that’s what we need. I’d like my other questions answered too. Won’t F-ck myself as I feel my questions were very fair, and at one point I did care about my Job , my union - I had hope with the recent election , but my candidates didn’t win. I still want to know who was behind screwing the T-Rates

You must be a new hire? How could you ask any of these questions, when there has been people begging to take 301 in a different direction. To stand up for what's actually right for the majority, vs deals for the clicks. Just a cple yrs ago 3 guys ran for the BA job. One guy who campaigned on the truth, one guy who just hated everyone and everything and the guy that actually won the special election. Come a year later, no one even asked legit candidates to run. We ended up with terrible choices for just about every office. But its easy to see why. Too many have believed the bu-----t since the day they where hired. Its very hard for the human being to admit when they are wrong. So its especially hard to not be a follower, vs being a leader. The membership of 301 wouldnt know a leader if they smacked each of them in the face! The music will be faced soon, those that bi--h day in and day out about not making sh-t to do what they dont even do, if you have not been smart enough to leave for more money at this point, you as well as the clicks folks, deserve every bit of sh-t you get! The topic itself is laughable and at this point, even those that do care, have been pushed to the point to saying go F yourself, because even we have had enough.
