Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Things must be dire when it comes to job market

A friend found a job with better pay (a 15 percent increase) and when he gave his notice they drilled him on why he was leaving and offered to match the new pay. I've never heard of that happening before. He didn't accept, of course, but he was happy to tell me what happened. Can you imagine how bad it is when layoff-happy Broadcom offers people pay raises just to stay?

happens all the time...

only the destitute or desperate apply here... no "A" player would ever apply, and most "B" players have options.

they'll be minor number of defections after payout, most people i know are trying to squeeze one more year..a risk as i guarantee the job market is going to soften up 2H 2022...companies are getting margin squeezed...

When is the bonus payout? I need to know when to give a start date for my new gig.

I would have left Broadcom for less money. I took a job to work on tech from this decade not tech from the last century! Working for Broadcom your career has one foot in the grave.
