Disappointing when they do the right thing only because they were audited and caught, not because they stand out as good corporate citizens.
All the promises about targeting roles to create a diverse population, and give diversity candidates an opportunity, is all about executive publicity and not commitment. The trip to Minneapolis for that photo op was all about SH looking the part, not being serious. Pure hypocrisy.
It just goes to show all the 'Bull****' they have spouted for years and shouting from the roof tops how wonderful they are and always in the top companies to work for (which they pay to be listed) is just lip service. Who really wants to work for this bunch.
Slowly people are beginning to realise it is toxic.
Terrible. I am so turned off by this company.
Oooh I wonder if this was initiated by the 113 affected or it was uncovered because my tenure fit & im in the minority group. They probably wouldn’t have laid me off if this was already “ discovered” & they’d have skipped me & gone for the white males who had lower numbers than I did
So was this the real reason for the diversity training the company is going through. Hmmmmmm. Probably
This won't be an issue going forward because the US jobs will be moved offshore.
"A corporate management compliance evaluation by the department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found that, beginning on or before Oct. 1, 2017, Thomson Reuters Corp. discriminated against 113 female, Black and Hispanic employees working in administrative and technical professional and client specialist positions. OFCCP found that the company’s pay practices of compensating affected employees less than their counterparts did not comply with Executive Order 11246."
