Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Laid off club - some help

Can we say there are more laid off Sungard people than there are employees? Probably.

I was laid off earlier in 2021. I am working at a great company in a job that leadership respects my expertise. Not a single meeting with any yelling.

My experience and advice.

Update your Linkedin status to open for work. Recruiters and companies will find you real quick. It sucks but sooner the better.

If SG offers LHH, use it. You get a coach, which is ok, but they help rewrite your resume. But get the updated content in it now so they have info to work with. They don't know managed services or DR terms but they know resumes. Also go to the session on how to get through the scanners!

Lastly, my company is hiring like crazy, especially IT and remote. Not going to leave my name or company here, but update your status on LinkedIn and I will find you and get you the info.

It will be better. The only thing I miss about SG is the people I worked with and got to know.

Good luck

Former SG people post here because they care about the people we worked with and want to see them land on their feet if they get laid off. This is just another forum to reach them. No love lost for the LT or company.

So you've been gone nearly 12 months and still felt the need to post here? Interesting.
