Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

It's sad the company Staples has become

Before Sycamore the leadership at least made it seem like they cared about their employees. There were still layoffs and alot of times the wrong people were let go. They sacrificed experienced people who knew their business so they could promote/hire inexperienced and cheaper.
Then Sycamore took over and just when you thought things couldn't get worse. The previous CEO SD seemed genuine but his boss JL--what a creep.
The last "Associate Forum" he snapped at the HR person in charge of filtering questions and asked why she was smiling. He threatens to randomly call on people and when someone asks a question he doesn't want to answer he asks them what they think. Another one coming up Monday--will be nauseating to hear their positive spin BS on the layoffs
JL is the type of person who would fire his own mother then ask her to make him dinner and to hurry up
I feel sorry for all those let go..It's a horrible feeling and to those left behind the question--Am I next? When?
Bottom line..Staples management does not care and Sycamore will end up skimming money and ruining the company completely. "What was Staples" will become a trivia question in 5-10 years

What is said regarding how meetings are run in some respects such as calling on people when questions are not asked is accurate. Unfortunate but accurate.

Remember that Big Show with all the new products! Somebody should have been paying attention to the man behind the curtain, JL. Everyone of those Own Brands was a failure. Brain child of JL. Sycamore is designed to strip companies of assets and cash. That’s what they do, that’s their business. Ra-e and pillage. Move on to the next adventure. Remember they paid themselves $1B bonus less than 1 year into ownership. Sorry for those who lost their jobs. It’s a workers market so should be easy to find a better job.

JL was a failure when he was the CEO at Loblaws - they kicked him out as he couldn’t run the business and were more than happy to part ways with him. He created a culture there of ego, not humility, and is not compassionate in the slightest. He is not interested in building a lasting valuable business, just in extracting profit in the short term. Sycamore is a perfect home for him - he doesn’t need to worry about people, just profit.
