I heard from a former colleague that the OMT program was terminated. Apparently UP got tired of spending huge sums of money on hiring and training just to have the OMTs quit within a year. Any truth to this?

Essentially I was a crew driver and checked train lists for the lazy myo’s for 70k, not griping about the money, but for 70k I can work for a plethora of company’s that are Monday through Friday, so why not if I have a choice? The MYO’s had me on nights, weekends and holidays, didn’t teach me anything and when a train didn’t make 1st OS it was my fault. Again, I didn’t mind the pay, but not worth being treated and talked to that way when I can go elsewhere.
Not sure why they would keep it going when so many OMT program graduates have been let go due to PSR
I hope they didn’t get rid of the OMT program I wanted to be a manager and hate my life
New managers where I work have no social skills. They will walk past a room full of us and they won’t make eye contact. I’m assuming they think if they don’t look at us we won’t notice them? Idk kinda strange IMO.
No, it’s still going.
My OMT quit. Apparently the hair bun, masters degree in sociology, and skinny jeans didn’t work out for him. Nice work UP.
That sounds like UP, what you heard is probably accurate.
