Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

I am surprised to see so many complaints here

I think a lot of people have lost sight of what's important in their hate for Apache and its management. This company has many faults, but it also provides you with your livelihood, so some loyalty would be nice. Imagine if you were unemployed and had no health insurance. There are millions of people who are in that situation and who would do anything to have your job with all the benefits. Once you realize how lucky you are to have your job, you might reconsider your harsh words when it comes to Apache.

If any of you want to return the favor on "loyalty" shoot me a reply back...my team is working on a case to unravel all the tricks companies like Apache pull on landowners to cheat them out of proper royalty payments.

Whether it's from deducting production expenses and adding fees to royalty payments, price skimming, paying royalties on lower-priced crude oil, over-estimating reserves to boost the balance sheets and drive up stock $$$. They pull every trick in the book. We have the info just need someone to blow the whistle and corroborate our analyses. Get back at the POS manager and hop on board.

Again come on. You all know loyalty means nothing at this place. It's ki-l or be ki---d. Welcome to the jungle.

I am guessing this post was made by someone who still works at Apache and trolls this board. If you are so happy at Apache, you should probably ask yourself why you are posting on this board. It is probably also a good time to remind yourself that save a precious few, yes you are just a number.

I think it’s that is so many complaints you see it’s the façade created that you are useful when in reality you are expendable on a moments notice

“ This company has many faults, but it also provides you with your livelihood, so some loyalty would be nice.”

Ahem.

During Project Ascend, I was told by numerous levels of management that my job was safe.

Guess what happened to me shortly after the first office shutdown in 2020?

Apache is owed absolutely no loyalty at all, particularly considering that it shows absolutely no loyalty to its employees.

And, besides, you think that Apache provides employees with their livelihood?

Might the employees provide Apache with its wonderful revenues that the execs squander into quarterly losses?

I guess you are one of those over promoted, over paid that feels just at home in this company. I’m sure you thought SK and AH were the greatest thing that happen to APA, and that the stock lost like 95% of its value at some point was just a hick up. I’m glad some people have have a sense of belonging in this company. I envy you, I wish I had all those warm feelings inside me. And I wish I could blame top level management for all, but there are so many bullies as lower and mid managers that can make others miserable. Some people are still here cause there are no jobs out there.

A person would do “anything” to have a job? That’s going a bit too far. People have limits, principles and morals. There are limits!!! People don’t like to be forced to sell their souls to the devil, nor pr-------e themselves.

It is because of people like you that things continue to deteriorate here. This company is sick and rotting from the inside out.

I have as much loyalty to the company as they have to me, which is zero.

If everyone has your attitude, to just accept what the company gives us, regardless, we’d all be minimum wage slaves (not knocking the poor people stuck in those positions).

This is literally a site designed for people to come an anonymously complain on, what do you expect? It’s not called ilovemyjob.com for a reason.

And, I for one don’t think we should just accept a dysfunctional workplace and mediocrity because it’s a paycheck. We’re required as professionals to continuously strive to do better, why wouldn’t our workplace do the same?
