Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

More layoffs happening tomorrow?

I'm having trouble sleeping because I'm worried about more layoffs coming our way tomorrow. Is there any way to know for sure it's done?

LEAVE! I’m at a new company and haven’t thought about layoffs once, whereas at staples it was an everyday question in the back of my mind. Company just needs to go under already

I'd say typically with these large scale RIFS, they do it all at once. And although there's been many layoffs over the last 5 years, this one feels a bit different... I wouldn't be shocked if this is sign of much more change to come unfortunately. I was there almost 10 years. It's not the same anymore. Especially after yesterday. I can't see how anyone could argue with that.

Staples will be laying off all of the Supply TAM's within the next few days. They are going to an all inside sales team out of Greenville Ill. Wait for the severance package as there will be something. All Staples will have after next week will be the stores as everything in the commercial sales division will be gone, everything. If you think your job is safe you are lying to yourself, you will be FIRED! You will be unemployed, you will not be working for Staples any longer as you are disposable.

I know it is worrisome, but have your resume ready and start applying. So many people are hiring and trust me it is not worth your mental health. Even if it is not today it will be soon. Take control of your own destiny.

Take pride in the fact that those who have pushed the SP lies, taken advantage of their direct reports, and overall sold themselves the the lie that they too will be a winner with the SP deal are also getting cut. Karma comes full circle and they will have a hard time finding a new job.

This is a difficult situation for everyone impacted, but not the end of the World. I would suggest reviewing your finances and apply for unemployment if you are impacted. Minimize spending where possible. After that, get your resume out there and start pursuing new opportunities. The job market is strong and there are more opportunities available than in the past. Stay positive and move on with a smile! Don’t let Staples poor business decisions have a negative impact on your life! Good luck!

Leave now! It is an employee market. Staples is a horrible company. Life is too short to work for a terrible company.

All lay offs took place Wednesday. Today they start communicating how new regions/territories are aligned.

Dont let Staples determine your future mental health. Leave now.

Advice, update your resume and leave. Why stay at a job where they treat you like you are the enemy?
