Thread regarding ExxonMobil Singapore layoffs

Is it really better at other oil companies?

Not that I believe the people posting on forums and on social media that the grass is greener on the other side. A lot of them are just trying to stir the p-t, and let’s face it, it's hard to admit that the new job is not what you hoped for. A few of my former coworkers got jobs at other oil companies and I know for a fact that it worked out great for them. In terms of payment, some went for a similar paying job, some went for slightly better pay. Aside from the income, all of them said that they were much happier with the work environment and the culture then they were at EM. They look much happier and much more satisfied. I think nobody can fake that.
Are work conditions really generally better at other oil companies or is it just a weird coincidence that all of those people that I know don’t regret leaving.
