Most people here realize how stagnant their skills have become while working at TD, only when they leave this company. A friend and a former colleague who managed to get a much better job told me that he is now under tremendous pressure to upgrade his skills in a very short time. The stagnation of skills is much worse than low pay, right?

My advice to TD employees is to simply start working. Start small, 1 hour a day and learn sth about cloud. Grow slowly to 6 hours a day with you learnings, maybe consider cloud certifications. Do not start at the beginning with 8 hours a day if you have been at TD for more than 2 years. This may prove fatal for ppl with no work exposure, doing nothing for years and cashing in on dying biz
Update your skills now, is my advice
The 'real world' of cloud and data analytics has a lot to offer.
In my experience having a Teradata certification can limit your job prospects rather than enhance them. Don't believe me - go read a few job adverts, see how many are screaming for TD experience (unless they are migrating off)
Alternatively, keep watching Netflix, TV and Storage Wars and pray that TD survives long enough until your retirement - like most of TD folks. Judging based on outcomes not storytelling of old pricks
Use your 40 hours a week of free time to keep learning. The rest time should be enough to submit expenses. TD life
Use your 30 hours of free time each week to pick up new skills
