Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Can't find workers! Why?

If Management doesn't figure this out they are going to be unemployed along with the rest of us. Listen to the workers find out why and Listen to them or just ship it overseas your choice! We are fit up with this.

Good ship it all overseas what a horrible place to work. No one wants to work for them anymore.

I’m betting that corporate management will look at the labor shortage as an opportunity to move more manufacturing overseas. This is completely consistent with maximize shareholder profits, and minimizing liabilities.

I would think if Emerson did a Sec review today they would have a much different outcome. People have had enough of this company and how they treat their employees. I believe Emerson is going under due to their lack of knowledge when it comes to understanding the needs of their employees. It was become a company more out to try and keep share holders and customers happy at the expense of the all their workers and now the workers have had enough of being under valued and being made to work hard, long hours without support .

According to the last SEC filings Emerson believes their relations with employees to be “favourable”.

“We know we can’t compete on pay…” I heard a million times. But we can’t compete on culture or benefits, but we do help create more fossil fuels and chemicals. Yeh that’s attractive for me to recruit on my team.

This has been a problem brewing since late 2000's as Farr created a culture of cronyism and nepotism. Too many leadership jobs went to unqualified people who could manage during good times and didn't have the experience to deal with challenges. It is a very sad state to hear that people aren't interested in joining Emerson. But this isn't unique to Emerson, given the troubles other big corporates have gone through (ABB, GE, Honeywell, to name a few)

I pulled the ripcord some weeks ago. Better pay and benefits.

Much of the talent already left. And it’s just a matter of time for the rest. IMO one of the biggest mistakes was not removing Farr sooner and replacing him with someone outside. Difficult for employees to trust the current leadership when they were a part of the culture under Farr.

It’s too late. By time HR and leadership offers competitive benefits and pay and culture, all talent will be hired elsewhere. Who really wants to come work here and wait to be sold off?
