I just started in August and wondering what the raise situation is.

Not really. Not regularly. Doesn't matter if you have amazing reviews and surpass all your goals, the only way to get even a slight raise in non-salary positions is to su-k up to your direct supervisor and figure out how to make their job easier. Even if it adds significantly to your work load, take as many small daily tasks off their hands. Offer to do things they complain about. Once you make their job easier, they will fight to get you a raise so you don't leave.
The other way to gain a raise is to apply and obtain a promotion, however, even if the job's pay range is higher for a new hire off the street, you will not make that much. They will give you a percentage raise based off the yearly amount you make for your current lower position. Meaning, if you only make 30k a year and you apply and get a job that pays 60k to start, your beginning salary will be 30k * 20% = 36k. You'll get paid 36k for a job everyone else is making 60k or more for. It's an extremely unfair practice!! Our department has made or exceeded set goals for 5 years and no one has gotten a raise. Rent in my area has gone from average of $850 a month to $1800 a month. I work a very technical job that requires a high level of knowledge and skill and I can't afford my rent and conduent does not care. The CEO and other very higher ups get million dollar bonuses. Like all business these days, Conduent eats employees up and spits them out.
Are you kidding? I got my raise 0.89% in 2019 after 20 monts, effective date is 04/20/2019, soon after this announcement, 401K match 3% was dropped for 2019, normally we get out annual match following January. When they take away your money, it's always retroactive..LOL
Note: They keep dumping work on us when people leave, they never back-fill and mgmt says no budget to back-fill, can you believe, I told them that I can't take anymore load, they laid me off, found another job, paid more, after a year, got a raise plus bonus.
You will only start progressing in your job and live ONLY when you leave this company, until then nothing is going to change
Company is terrible, HR the worst.
They will throw more work at you but NEVER a pay raise.
This is the company that terminated the 401k plan (except for high level execs) a few years ago.... Whatever you are thinking, forget it.
