Cloud Ops, an organisation which thinks moving a customer to cloud is just provisioning and dumping data on it ......not much good for a customer who expects to actually use it and integrate it with their ecosystem. I'm always amazed how RB lives in a bubble and no f**king idea how our customers actually use TD or that it matters we maintain our relationship to keep paying there salaries. Shocking stuff and another DH brainchild.

not a department but the source of all evil in tech product biz. I nominate CTO for missing on the cloud oppty. Adjusting TD fast for cloud native deployment may have made this 300B biz. Not really the place we are today

I agree - digital marketing/Web team. AS and RB - the project delivery is either very slow or in some cases non-existant as deadlines get forgotten. The field marketind/demand gen teams are not happy. Both of them just like to talk but have no clue about digital marketing beyond old fashioned cms or seo.

Of all the posts on this site, for me as a longtime Teradata employee this thread is the most depressing and concerning. I can’t disagree with any of the posts. Except for sales, all our groups basically suck. And I am not in sales but I respect how they have kept us alive on life support the last few years. My hope of retiring at Teradata is gone. So sad. How did a once great company get so bad?

Hello Digital Marketing’s COE! What are they doing over there— my projects just sit for weeks, then when I reach out to RW or AS, I get a call because they escalated to my Director and I’m told my meeds aren’t so important as M.e.’s. I could do the work myself if they’d just give me access.

The "partner" organization has NEVER been partner-friendly (it's ALL about what the partner can do for TDC, not a mutually beneficial relationship). Not to mention, some of the partner group is under HA which is a curse unto itself. The Sales organizations have never bought-in to a channels approach. Other than the big SIs who want to siphon off services, why would ANY company want to partner with TDC?

No one can touch strategy or HR, but honorary mention goes to partner organization who are busy implementing the very successful approach of using channel partners and SIs instead of consulting to deliver the wonderful packaged services delivered by product management, another honorary mention.

DH's ugly ba----d child, the combined CS and MS gets another honorary mention: now everybody in CS has been fired and MS, which was separated from Consulting and integrated with CS to deliver ARR only to be separated from CS and integrated back to Consulting (and no longer delivering precious ARR). Hence I do not know if there anything left in that org except the glorious leader DH and of course SEMs, who were invented to manage CS & MS combo.

Wow. So many candidates. Can anyone name an organization that’s doing well? I vote for Sales since if they can convince customers to put Vantage in the cloud they are heroes. Especially with all the complexity, no elasticity, and product quality issues. Plus they are under constant attack from cloud-natives like Snowflake.

It has to be the Strategy group. They hire NC since he supposedly had strategy expertise. He hires an expensive team plus brings in his buddies from McKinsey to do the work he should be doing. We only have one product, one distribution channel, and just target data warehousing. How complicated can it be. And after all this money and talk, there has been no material change.

I vote for HR. They specialize in layoffs, morale is at an all time low, while cramming this woke training down our throats. What a productivity drain. Our white employees who buy into this low run around feeling guilty for how they were born. The ELT makes a pledge to eliminate racism, yet we have no black senior leaders. What a circus.

Definitely product team - doing nothing for years, being irrelevant, useless old pricks. I hope they axed all of them ASAP - they are not worth a penny

Many groups in the running for this, but the winner is R&D since without a modern, differentiated product it really does not matter what the other groups do. HA has to go. She inherited a mess but was not qualified and has done nothing to improve innovation. RG’s group laughs at her incompetence. The Strategy group is worse than worthless and takes second place.

ELT for doing nothing to turn the company around and using the culture transformation as a diversion.

we can ignore lazy category - this is Teradata, each of them is lazy. Incompetent is tricky but I nominate R&D for delivering NOTHING in last 20 years. Well done!
