They used to tout that they were the alternative to Cisco and a clear #2 in enterprise networking. Not anymore as they have been passed by Arista, Juniper, VMware, Extreme, and NVIDIA according to this article.

Great, so HPE make employees take paycuts or unpaid leave last year but still has $1 Billion to spend on Silver Peak to strengthen Aruba but it hasn't worked, is that correct?

Aruba cloud was a disaster. Their SDWAN did not work plus it would take another 3-4 years to implement all the routing protocols and feature gap. Therefore The Godfathers of Aruba left and it was all taken over by Silver peak management.
Truth is out there. They also laid off almost 50% of headcounts in engineering in Santa Clara in the last two years.

Are you the damage control person working for HPE here again?
Aruba is has grown year over year because last year was a disaster for them. No where to go but up.
Your cherry picked stats don’t refute the idea that they have passed by several competitors in the networking space.
Oh and go away damage control person. This site is not for you.

I would agree with the comment below mine but I wouldn't share the same amount of optimism. Any time you acquire a company to do the work your previously acquired company (i.e. Silver Peak carrying Aruba) is rather embarrassing. No wonder Melkote and his buddy, Pradeep, left the company.

Even though Aruba is quickly growing, that success will plateau and then sink. It is rather ironic that they are doing the best while HPE as a whole is probably going to scratch their heads on how they can realign their hardware strategy. Aruba is the black sheep of the company but at least they have their own solutions. HPE is basically competing against itself in hardware solutions.

Interesting - IDC reported that Aruba revenues rose 27.7% year over year in 1Q21 and market share increased to 14.8%, up from 14.1% in the previous quarter. Aruba's growth outpaced the combined consumer and enterprise WLAN market, which grew 16.7% year over year. While Cisco is the market share leader with 44.4%, their revenues increased 21.2% year over year in 1Q21 - I think Aruba is doing quite well as the Cisco alternative..
