Got another job opportunity with having more than 20yrs of service. Should I quit or go to the bottom at another company with roughly 20yrs to go?

20 years left....no question. Research this other company and leave. If you have an ounce of hope from retiring from this other company than take it because there is no chance you'll make it another 20 at UP. I have 20 years left and I'm leaving. This company takes you to such a dark place in your head that all you feel is hate and bitterness toward everything. If I stay at UP I'll probably end up making headlines in the news. I'd rather enjoy my next 20 than be treated like dry dog sh!t on UP's boot. Get out while you're young or you'll be trapped like the old guys.
Yeah waste your life with UP so you can enjoy a few years when you’re old and wrinkled and broken down
I recently retired at 60 years old and I'm receiving approximately 60K a year, with my wife retiring soon she'll get another 30K a year. You will never find a better retirement anywhere. I hated working for the railroad and I put up with all the bu-----t and I'm glad I did. My 401K is my backup in case I need something major. When you get your a-s ripped, just smile and think about the bigger picture (retirement).
You get to retire at 60 because your body is shot by then. After putting in 60-70 hour work weeks for a lifetime on deserves to retire at 60. It’s no easy task making it on the RR 30 or 40 years.
Where else can you retire at 60 with 30 years of service?
In at 23 and I’m leaving in march. It all depends on your situation but if you’re waiting for it to get better you’ll be an old man and retire before it does!
You should definitely go especially if you are a carman in np. Seniority move.
I won't get no more free yellow vest
You should stay. If you leave you won’t get anymore free gloves
Yes roster type job. I know nobody cares who leaves or stays would like to stay. just 20 years I don't know if they will have anyone here working. Or be furloughed.
Define bottom. Is it a roster type job where you are working weekends and nights. Or is it 9 to 5 office hours. If it will make you happier go if not stay. You can be just as miserable somewhere else or twice as happy. Also no one here cares if you stay of go.
