Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

New people making so much more than me even my directs! Will they ever adjust!?

Half my f team makes more than I do. I came from the CA acquisition...I am bringing in new people that make much more than me. More than half of directs for a fraction of the f work. I was at least 20% under then without knowing and now it's even more crazy low.

Realistically is there any way to change this situation or only leave? If I need to leave then I am willing to do it the second I get the fn bonus.

It's true that you have to job hop every 2-3 years to move up the salary ladder. It's not like it used to be when you were loyal to companies for 20+ years and they reciprocated.

Look out for yourself and no one else. Hock sure as f couldn't care less about YOU. This is the best job market in history and anyone not looking is a stunad.

New hires getting significantly more than existing employees is common in every company. That's because existing employees don't get raises or RSU grants which keep up with the job market. The longer you stay the more you fall behind. I was a longer term employee so I was really far behind. When I left for another company my comp increased 2.5x. That's not a good thing because it shows you how much money I've lost by not changing jobs earlier. The job market is on fire, along with inflation, so you really need to keep changing jobs every 2 to 3 years to keep up. Even a theoretical 6% raise, which won't happen, is not going to cut it.

The 4 year grants sound great for someone who is doing the same thing for those years of rest and vest, but NOT for anyone promoted after the acquisition. The responsibility and stress went up exponentially going from IC to management with no extra RSUs to compensate for the extra scope. In fact, HR said you're locked in for those 4 years and no raise for almost 3 years. Meanwhile those at the current role have 2-3x more shares for the same work from the original grant! BS!

What's the merit raise going to be next year, 3%? F that I'm GONE as soon as that bonus check clears.

There's going to be a massive amount of resignations in ESD and SED (especially SED) after the bonus is paid out. Management screwed up the sales quotas and nearly every rep is getting paid at 200% so they're going to cap the bonus for the rest of those segments.

Add that to no raises after two record profit years and the inequality of those CA people that got 4 year grants versus the rest of us and its ridiculous. 4 year grant people are just coasting along pretending like they're working on dead products while making 2-3x the stock as the rest. Sc--w them... I've got my delayed start letter from Cloudflare and don't have to go to the office.

You're from CA so the majority of your stock should should be vested. When it is and you've collected your bonus then leave.

I changed my job in 2/2019 from Broadcom to nvidia. At that time, I have 4 ys stock not invest yet. After 3 ys, and when I look back. My account is 3 times more money than if I stay Broadcom. I also got promotion. If you are under 40, leave asap.

I'd start asking for a kickback for positive performance reviews.
Or to bury bad reviews.
Say - 500 per plus or non-minus.
