What are your thoughts about potential Ingram Micro layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Spoke with someone who sells a good-or-service to Ingram Micro that is directly tied to the number of employees. Was informed that they will be cutting over 5000 jobs in the next year.
Ingram Micro at Eastvale ca is been without business for the last year and half. And recently layoff people with the excuse that they sold account to Ceva Logistics. Is legal to sold the employees also?
Cause is the reason that management give to employees that part of the transaction was to transfer the employees with out consent of the employees or asking if that was ok with the employee.
Ingram Micro just layoff a least 50% of the employees at Eastvale , CA facility.
But they never explain the reason or give stupid excuses.
