Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

This is unbelievable....

Millions on Strategy team, McKenzie and now hear that TD has hired another Consulting Firm (SBI) to set everyone's quota for next year....this is super crazy. On the other hand, there is more RIF's on the way even for Sales Orgn while every competitor is hiring sales resources big time. NC was fired by his previous CEO 100% confirmed - on the records of an employee background check company, SM hired him without proper background check and given a long rope. Wake up SM and Board. Earnings call... absolutely pathetic response to the Analysts's questions.

Is anyone else wondering where we failed in our own careers to come to a state where we are managed (albeit indirectly) by out of their depth light weights like NC?

NC has been a failure. Great he can speak another language and needs to come out of the closet to give himself relevance. But he came to us with next to no business experience and is way out of his depth.

I think you got this all wrong. This culture campaign is really a facade for managing decline and hoping that more ppl will simply leave (such that they do not need to fire them). They need to say sth so they talk about inclusion - not growth nor innovation as these are just nonexistent topics. It show they are not delusional about quality of ppl and product at hand - much better than "visionary CEO" talking about AI on TD in his Tesla. What would you do if u get to lead TD, think about it.

We don’t need a for profit corporation being a change agent for social change. We all need to be tolerant and respectful, but I don’t need SM, KCC, NC, or anyone else dictating what is or isn’t socially acceptable. That’s not their job and it’s way out of bounds. They have enough of a challenge growing revenue and keeping all our smart people from going to competitors.

Remember when SM introduced NC to the company as "a wonderful human being"? Remember how giddy KCC was after NC told the company TD's number one priority had to be making people like himself feel special? It was obvious from the start that NC was hired as to be an aggressive D&I chance agent and that his strategy experience, if any, was completely irrelevant.

What company fired NC? I would expect SM and KCC to do deep checks before hiring a consultant to run our strategy. I knew five minutes into my introduction call with him that he was a huge mistake. He’s lost all credibility with the field. Just a nice title with no real authority.
