Don't get me wrong, I’m glad people are leaving, but at the same time I’m getting more and more depressed because I have a feeling that everyone is leaving while I am constantly failing to find another option. It makes me feel like a loser. I think my age is the biggest hurdle. I hope that I will be able to leave soon, that is my biggest wish.
I would like to know how much on average it took others to find another job and how many applications they sent on average?

Hired into a short line within one month of being laid off for PSR. Turned down CSX and a steel company who both offered jobs. Jobs are plentiful! You aren’t stuck where you are!
Took me 5 months, applied to about 3 places. FTRR.
Took me 6 months after implementation of psr. Applied to about 10 companies.
You are not the only one. Just remember it doesnt cost you anything but time to put in applications.
Well my dream job was Union Pacific and a jumbo hot dog so i already made it. Just remember if you leave you won’t get a free UP calendar, so you may want to reconsider.
Good luck. Don't give up. Just remember there are always people in this world in a worse position than you are in. It'll work out.
