Anyone know how long the contract was signed for?
So, keys to the DaVita kingdoms have been given to India (IT Operations, Finance, Payroll). Way too many jobs leaving the USA to support the India culture. DaVita believes in Community first, unfortunately the community they are supporting now is in India.
The current CEO JR CD are nothing about the values that made Davita different and successfully. He is a typical exec with no imagination, just greed. He will run this company into the ground, siphon off as much money as he can for himself and friends and then company will be sp-t and sold. KT made this company successful and kept it that way through his creative strategies and great leader. JR, you are no KT, you don't measure up.
This is insane but honestly not surprising. Davita so clearly has never valued their employees like AT ALL. This really is a huge slap in the face to all of these people who have hung in there with them and now are just out of a job. This company is truly Disgusting
Word is that the company was negotiating the offshoring of US jobs to TCS from at least May 2022. Indian company knew 6 months before Davita employees about the village relocation to Mumbai.
Don't believe the stated reason for the cuts. The real reason is business model erosion. The model is predicated on cheap PCT labor arbitrage. PCT does the job of nurses and paid one fourth. The salary difference is the business model, and the risk is absorbed by the patients' quality of care giving, and profit captured by shareholders and executives. Now in 2022 PCT salaries are forced higher because humans won't accept $18 hr to perform mission critical patient care. They can work at Lowes or deliver pizza for the same price and much less painful responsibilities. The solution therefore is once again to continue with finding cheaper labor, and introducing more risk, by this time moving the work to offshore.
DaVita execs, be forewarned: the alleged savings you anticipate by outsourcing to TCS will soon evaporate. Also, sure hope you ‘re not granting access to any of your applications containing PHI or PII to India-based workers, ‘cause India doesn’t follow US law. Think I’m wrong? Why not run that topic by Judy Faulkner, founder and CEO of Epic. Sad state of affairs when DaVita, who is totally preachy about being a “village” screws their employees so they can keep their c-level bonuses.
What is the estimate of IT employees that were laid off? All the core values and slogans are nothing more than meaningless posters and worthless coins. The true heart of the village has been exposed...corporate greed of those that sit around a big mahogany desk looking down on us.
Follow the money. Who will benefit from offshoring labor to TCS? Who is closest to TCS? Tens of millions of dollars transferred to India. It is a village after all.
CEO delivered a "Village" call to all employees where he began the call with a 5 minute speech about being grateful, grateful about the world and nature, and delivered with a cultish guru sighing meditation breathing cadence. A very disturbing and seemingly pharmaceutical induced delivery and clearly was his way of coping and deflecting responsibility of the recent layoffs, which were not a topic of conversation at all. The implied message being, be grateful you weren't among the fired. An utter lack of accountability in the mismanagement of CEO decisions that led to the outcome.
Then the call transitioned to your regular, yet amplified scripted corporate promotional effort, where selected employees read prepared and reviewed for emotional content narratives about patient care giving, so to manipulate and guilt the villagers into accepting their underpaid duties.
All in all, a disgusting display of disrespect which shows how stupid they believe their workforce to be to fall for this, and how smart they perceive themselves to be to pull off the con.

Wow. Just sat on an all “Village” call and not one word about the layoffs that occurred last week. So incredibly disrespectful to the hundreds of folk who’s jobs were OUTSOURCED to other countries.
This is what was sent to us.
"You are eligible to receive a Retention Bonus in the amount of $10,000. This Retention Bonus payment will be paid out in the first pay period following September 1, 2023 (less all applicable taxes and withholdings). The purpose of this Retention Bonus is to reward you with additional compensation if you remain employed by DaVita in your current job position through September 1, 2023 (the "Retention Period")
Retention Bonus Eligibility:
In order to be eligible to earn the Retention Bonus payment you must satisfy the following requirements throughout the Retention Period: (a) you must be a current full-time benefit eligible Teammate at DaVita in your current job position, (b) you must not be suspended or on any formal corrective actions, including written Warnings, suspensions or performance improvement plans, and (c) you must be actively performing work.
If you accept another job position at DaVita or you or Davita terminate your employment during or before the end date of the Retention Period, you are not eligible to receive this

Da Vita shall have the sole discretion to pay a pro rat share of any Retention Bonus payment in the event you are not actively performing work due to a company-approved leave of absence or approved Paid Time Off (PTO). DaVita also reserves the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to rescind, change or amend all or any part of the retention bonus program. Any changes will be made on a prospective basis only
Nothing contained in this letter shall change the nature of your at-will employment, meaning that you may terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, and Da Vita may terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Your employment with Da Vita will remain subject to all policies and procedures of employment applicable to all Teammates.
You are a critical and valued member of the team and your contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued service and support during this important transition."
We have been having meetings all week here on the help desk. We are getting a 10k BONUS in September. If we keep put jobs with the company. We signed nothing to protect our jobs. So this bonus isn't even a guarantee to top it all off our Director sends us a email stating you can be let go at anytime for no reason what to ever but we value you. Is this a sick joke guarantee to top it all off our Director sent us a email saying we can still be let go for any given reason and the 10k isnt promised. Is this a sick joke?
Company claims they are a village and a community but IT department just outsourced to Tata Consultancy Services where slave labor is leveraged so CEO can earn $75 million a year. Transparently scripted leadership presentations telling people to work around the clock for patients well being, as management secretly negotiates contracts with offshore vendors to eliminate their jobs, and then disgustingly blames patient deaths as the reason for cuts, to disguise their inability to keep pace with inflationary wages and turnover from overworked and underpaid staffing model.
