You all heard mgmt clearly state that “there are no layoffs planned this year”. Put your head down and get back to work or the executives might get a smaller bonus.

Sudbeck has her claws in this reorg as well. Just need to hire a new CIO to implement so she keeps her hands clean. Has to be an outsider so they can be sacrificed once the layoffs are done.

Doesn’t anyone at PL listen. The outsourcing was the brain child of Carol BigA Sudbeck in an effort to display value to a weak executive leadership team. Shadler was the minor league fool from the Virginia based Genworth (remind me how genworth turned out shadler) who was brought in to execute the awesome plan. As you can see he brought in the whole band of Bad News Bears players (management) to support him in achieving .…..I’m not sure what. What an S show. Hope all is well with all of you left wondering if you’re next. The rudderless ship that PL has become is ripe for a smashing by the big white moby di-k. Enjoy “retirement” shadler.

Another round of layoffs? Merging the divisions? Consolidation? Can you share more details?

Let me guess, hot chicks and “big idea” types still on board? Seems it’s been nothing but bad news announcements for 5 years straight. Really sad so many jobs eliminated so they can copy cat “fin tech” companies that are all imploding at the moment.

Ironic that Shadler, the mastermind behind outsourcing technology, is now being “retired”.

Another round of layoffs announced as Pacific Life consolidates administration of the Life Insurance and Annuities division.

To second response you should be fine. Cyber security is still a “shiny new object” to them.

It’s the conventional IT and other department roles they can’t swing the axe fast enough.

Are the layoffs as bad as reported on here and Glassdoor? Considering an IT security related position with PL and am concerned about layoffs.

Apparently some of my old IT peers are today. For gods sake what is their obsession to RIF every last person from the original IT department. It’s like some creepy genocide op. I’ve been gone two years and I can’t believe this is still going on.

To survive there are two options left.

A. Walk in circles repeating “transformative, agile, co-create, self healing, digital, disrupt, work space, parallel path, cloud cloud mc cloud”

B. Be a hot chick. Somehow they always get spared the axe give or take one or two per 100staff to avoid a discrimination lawsuit. Don’t tell me you have not noticed this. “We no longer need team XYZ in our operating environment. Except their hot manager she’ll make a good business liaison for my friends consulting group….. “
