Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Why is CTXS in such a state?

I have a serious question.

What according to you led to the CTXS disaster that we are on the brink of bankruptcy?

A. poor leadership?
B. micro management?

  1. fuzzy vision with WorkSpace?
  2. Degrading culture and values?

E. Poor processes and practices?
F. Talent attrition?

Or anything else?

When you have people with entry level program managers qualification and skills, as VPs and SVPs here what else can you expect?

Lack of Focus, too many course changes (all mandatory) and too many fiefdoms.

There are many reasons that brought Citrix to this point.

  1. Citrix toxic culture - Citrix is not a great place to work. How does it end up on lists that it is? HR is paying people. The managers micro manage and don’t care about your success.
  1. Managers - Managers often don’t have a lot of experience and are a robot of their manager. Managers don’t know the products or the vision.
  1. Acquisitions - Citrix is probably the only company who in my opinion has acquired the worst companies time and time again. The acquisitions don’t grow their core business. It’s like they acquire a company just to see if it will save them and not because it’s part of the vision.
  1. Innovation- The fact that Citrix is in the position they are in now is proof they have no innovation. A WW stay at home order and Citrix is collapsing during it all. Who would of ever thought?
  1. Top talent/ retention- Citrix can’t get top talent or retain top talent. No one wants to go to a sinking ship with no innovation. People are leaving Citrix at alarming rates.

Incompetent management and no leadership in the company. The constant bullying and degradations by management has led to zero motivation for rank n file employees.

There are way too many VPs in the company that don't even know how to configure or use their own product. They don't even understand the technology behind it and having a non-technical CEO causes more problems. I think Citrix is the only tech company who does not value Engineers. Poor leadership, lack of clear vision and poor quality of product managers have resulted Citrix in a death spiral.

When you have directors with less <10 years of total job experience and in some cases <5 you're going to have problems.

Agree SAFe has changed the product company into a heavy weight, process company run by micro managers.

Hundred of thousands of hours are wasted every PI just to get the consensus for outcomes which is lowest agreeable possible.

Look at the outcomes. It’s NO coincidence that the company financials started suffering right after SAFe was implemented.

SAFe. Decreases innovation, more people were needed to do the same tasks. It’s an expensive process

Poor leadership at all levels period.

Unless there is a clean up at that level, Citrix will continue to suffer.
