Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

It won't be that bad - for now

Yes. I agree layoffs are coming. There's no escaping that. But if we are to function as our own company then they can't decimate the workforce before the dust has settled down. I think there'll be some cuts right away but not too many. However, a year down the line is when I'm expecting to see the full impact of this move.

@Vsed+1dKEFOtj There is plenty of better jobs out there. I got one also. You just have to have skills and put in effort to get the job.

I love to read lies about how much better you are doing but you're reading GE comment boards and laying down your stupid comments on it. What a loser!

I worked for 2 different segments of ge...got my 20. I got out. I'm happier now, making more money, without the constant BS from management and without the constant instability. Get you plan B in your back pocket and bail.

Omicron is coming! Flights will be canceled and commercial jet orders will be dropped! Layoffs are on the horizon.

I'm sure there will be more layoffs, management only know how to cut people in order to cut costs. They won't do the necessary cuts to red tape to let people work and be productive.

Not sure about cuts. My site had almost a 40% layoff during covid. Some roles are being filled again but it's not a hiring surge. With XA100 and other business on the horizon they won't have the option to cut many if at all. At least for engineering roles. I believe the breakup is actually good news for Aviation, not so much for the others.

Bad for American employees...good for all others. Simple

Not sure if I buy that there will be layoffs down the road, perhaps. Just overall long term this is not a positive in my book.
