Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

What's next after the 12/31/21 Retirements?

Retirements 'offered' for 12/31/21 in order to get health insurance in retirement are upon us. Employees are in their last weeks. Are there any concerns that 'forced' retirements are next or did they get enough 'volunteers'?

It appears HR didn’t get the numbers they wanted. Some individuals that declined to retire prior to 12/31/21 are being talked to directly to see if they’d reconsider. I’m pretty sure that will not go well either so yes they’ll be forced retirements. Or….they should open it up those those that just missed the deadlin—they’d bail in a heartbeat!

I'm more concerned with the quality of employees and their ability to answer questions from policy owners. Recent experience indicates that they cannot answer simple questions. Amazing how far the company has fallen in a few years. Not the same quality as it used to be.
