New work coming to 273 job security for year from this new order. Let’s see if the union gets something back for the membership? Or we will just prolong the layoff.

Well, this post didn’t age well.
There's no such thing as get backs. Once the company takes something away, it's gone. Then they look for the next thing they want, and how to get it, and with the current weak "leadership", it won't be to difficult.
