Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Black Friday sick out

Call out and say emergency short notice day. Management can't ask why. We have no devices customers want. They extend our hours for the mystery traffic for our no devices. For everyone that wants to take a stand against this vaccine mandate. Quota will not be attainable anyway. For once we can enjoy black friday instead of slaving to H@ns and his cronies. Hit them in their wallets. Up vote if you are in.

Except… most of us have used all our ESN time by now, and the policy is absolutely clear that ESN time cannot be used on company restricted time. It’s not a right, it’s a benefit. They don’t have to pay you and can, according to policy, actually use UIA unpaid, as well as take away the holiday pay you would get. No phones, sounds like an easy day at work to me, I’ll take the double time. Protesting the mandates? Yeah, that’s fine, but Verizon isn’t the one making you do it. You hate Verizon and wanna be useless and stage your own protest, go for it, but don’t go crying when the unemployment benefits aren’t actually there from the same politicians you look to back you up about the vaccine mandates. Good luck.

Sorry to say no one in our store knows of this sick out and if they did they wouldn't even consider it for many reasons. A few even believe that the stock supply will magically open up on black Friday and truly believe all these phones will suddenly appear for the holidays. Not one communication has been sent by mgmt on planning for supply chain problems it seems they are out of touch.I could write a book on the incompetence and inaction of store mgmt They have become so bad that they have the greeter( non employee seasonal)control the flow of customers ithat come in,one ast mgr told the greeter,if a rep is not engaged send the customers to them, most probably while she hangs out in the back. The only thing the frontline can give thanks is no extended hours this season.

Most people shop online now. All you'll do is send a message they don't need you.

Holiday pay for employees < yearly revenue generated from all new lines and upgrades sold on Black Friday. Wayyyyy less.

Yeah ok… you’re ACTUALLY helping the company if you don’t work… they won’t have to pay you extra for holiday pay and it’s the best holiday pay of the year. Sounds like Hans talking right now…

Won't work friend. Not an option.

If this isn't your dream job, if you hate it here, leave. It's that simple.

If you don't want to be here, why aggravate yourself by staying?

You can’t use ESN on Black Friday. You can use sick time though if you have it
