What departments got cut? Glad to hear that someone at least found a new job right away. Congratulations and you should be happy that you’re moving on.
I already found another better paying job BUT I was laid off. Some departments got nixed, some postitions got eliminated. Some people got promoted. Others got reassigned. Big focus on Lottery, looks like Casino Services isn't the priority anymore. Getting laid off ended up being a good thing.
Is there someone out there who is able to confirm that layoffs happened last week?
Every big slot company is billions in debt. That seems to be the norm
To the person who said the company is doing good:
Billions in debt
Laid of more than half of the work force
Little to no raises
Promotions only for the people the like
Vegas campus went from 3 buildings to half a building
Rhode Island downsized
Reno downsized
Exodus of all talent
Outsourced development
We see your point!
Whoever posted this was spot on. We got the news Friday. Random cuts across the board, but it looks like many saw it coming as a bunch of valuable talented employees resigned this week as well.
How big of a market is Arizona? From what I can tell the company is doing good. Thanksgiving is in 5 days so I'll guess we'll find out soon enough.
There are virtually no IGT games anymore in the casinos. IGT isn’t coming up with new innovation. I’m not sure if you’ve seen the Aristocrat Dune. I’ve been to the Palazzo and their display has a really neat marquee to draw attention to the game. Whomever thought of that is a genius. But IGT on the other hand, has nothing like that.
I hope however, for the employees sake, that they don’t do any layoffs by Thanksgiving.
Basis of my claim, no IGT games on the floors. Desert Diamond, Gila River, Wild Horse, you know Arizona Casinos have little to no IGT games. I also heard they all switched vendors. Any thing else?
I still say that once GTech took over, the entire company was run into the ground. Happy for the employees still getting a paycheck there but it’s game over.
what's the basis for your claim?
And they are paying the price for it. Scigames and Aristocrat are winning the market-share battle and IGT games have disappeared from many casino floors. Here in Arizona they have pretty much lost this whole market.
Their goal is to get 100% of development out of the states. Think about how many studios/developers igt had pre 2015 vs. now.
Cold, they always do this right before the holiday season. I wonder which offices will get hit. Vegas is due as Reno and RI has already been cut to the wire.
I heard the same. Should be near thanksgiving.
