I can vouch for this. People would rather go work somewhere else and get paid more money doing it. Not raising our minimum starting is keeping people away.

Maybe regional leadership should be spreading their time working some hours in stores. They could definitely use the help cashiering and getting carts. Help in other delta to throw load and fill displays. But you won’t see it.

They’ll approve tm’s from other stores to cover shifts and pay OT before they would lift a finger to come and do it themselves

At our store the TL has approved unlimited OT at least until we get staffed up. Some Tm's are really going for it too, working 12 hours a day with no breaks. The problem with his plan is that we are losing TM's much faster than we can hire them and retention is laughable.

It is actually cheaper for the company to pay OT then to hire and train new people, only to have them quit a short time later. Let's not do them any favors. Our STL stopped the OT though. I am sure Global is not aware of it. He is not about to lose his bonus due to OT.

Wait you guys are allowed to do OT My store. You not even allowed to go over by a minute or your team leader would be asking questions on why you went over.

I agree with this post. The more they get people to work OT the more likely they are to see they can get away with exploiting workers. Our store is hiring well above staffing guidance and still 10's of thousand of dollars under labor budget. Finance has got to get it together.
