Total bollocks.

The more people leave before payout the less it costs the plant.

HR(T) is correct.

He’s just moving the process along quickly and cheaply.

If this is the case get it in writing that any early deployment to another vacancy WILL NOT IN ANY WAY COMPROMISE REDUNDANCY AGREED. ANY REDUNDANCY MUST ALSO BE IN WRITING.

The plant is closing. End off

DONT BE GUIDED BY PLANT MANAGERS COMMENT. IT HOLDS NOTHING. JUST HOPES AND PRAYERS.

So there you have it. Shell, BP and others are in for £700M windfalls round Uk waters.

What I’ve been suggesting for years. DIVERSITY.

But no. Management know best. And only Management.

This is what happens when you singled on O & G. Had your chance in Nuclear. Lucrative, very much so, sorry we are NOV Gateshead we know best.

In the exact words of VP’s over and above to those that are at Gateshead. “Do whatever it takes to make revenue” that was 4 years ago

This is fundamental to the core of our closure.

NO WORK IN. NO WORK OUT.

This is the kind of stuff our union reps would take advantage of. Yes, the company has took advantage of your loyalty for years, but its because of lazy tossers like these that they've been able to. I for one will will work till the end and laugh as more out of spec parts come in and destroy the anson name. Remember, the real inspectors aren't allowed to check project acorn parts.

Employees can normally self-certify sickness absence for the first seven days. Temporarily, they can self-certify for 28 days, to enable GPs to focus on the COVID-19 booster programme. ICAEW’s Tax Faculty explains this temporary extension.
Employees eligible to receive statutory sick pay are not normally required to provide their employer with medical evidence to support sickness absence for the first seven days of absence. For longer periods of absence, they must obtain medical evidence (a fit note) from their GP.

In order to free up GP capacity to focus on the government’s current priorities for the NHS of delivering the coronavirus booster programme and emergency care, employees will not be required to provide their employer with medical evidence of sickness absence for the first 28 days of absence. GPs will still be required to supply fit notes for periods of absence exceeding 28 days.

Open ticket. Take advantage

This change takes effect from 17 December, but applies to absences beginning on or after 10 December 2021, up to and including absences which begin on or before 26 January 2022. The self-certification period will revert to seven days for absences beginning on or after 27 January 2022.

Let us stick with the facts.

  1. top entry cell. Failure
  2. indexing cell. Failure
  3. pup jo--t cell and the test bay inside that never got used. Failure
  4. operation Boyle. Failure
  5. operation acorn not a complete failure yet but not looking good. People in that department left or leaving.
  6. The only thing Voldemort has succeeded with is going out to dinner with drivel.

The facts speak for themselves you only need to look.

Jobs advertised on LinkedIn for new positions at gateshead, makes you wonder what's going on? Volder in charge of a group when he is unable to tell the time of day or even contemplate a specification without someone holding his hand. What do VPs see in this clown. Go-k luck everyone in new positions but look at this low cost sourcing team who have closed the factory, one guy apparently used to be an apprentice on the tools who has helped the bald as-----n put the final nail in. Bad karma C. Only time until it comes around as nobody will be safe after Kintore have everything they need. Snakes every one of them and please stop using the Anson name. Embarrassing to the people who made it, hopefully that's on the way up with new machine shop planned. Didn't know about that hmmmm.

What’s happening is happening.

HR and the so called management team will have collective and individual consultations

Don’t forget your notepad and pen. More importantly place your mobile phone down too. But set to audio record. Don’t forget to set to auto dim

There will be errors.

Make sure you record these events. It’s within your interest to do so

They will hit you with NDA’s (non disclosure agreement) that’s a negotiation of at least a couple of grand. But this is the best deal we can offer. No do not accept. Negotiable

Do not accept the first offer. Bate in mind that there is a budget for this and they will come under this by short changing you. For which they will be rewarded for

Why aren't the union going to local newspapers, TV news etc.. like last time? Maybe because they're touching their toes to hang on to their jobs as long as possible? Shame on you vermin.

Gateshead closing 2022= 👍 1
NOV couldn't do it in 2022 = 👎6
Come on! Place your bets,
We are here till June, well most of us.
What do you think?
My opinion: Relocate to a smaller cost effective facility?
Difficulty level 1= Easy
Or redistribute all of the work to many other facilities?
Difficulty level ???? = Extreme
Forgive my sinasisum.
Only like or dislike this post based on the values of the bet. Thank You.

In the last year Gateshead has spent more money on bee hotels and owl boxes than it has on modern tooling. Management should be shot with s#@$

Good programmers will find work in a heartbeat, plenty of jobs out there as huge shortage of skilled men. Supervisors and made up zero skilled micro management will have a hard time, lots of good lads who got let go now have good positions at local companies who will not forget what they had to put up with from insecure little people. Karma is a bi--h haha. One question to ask during the 45 day consultation is why are all the managers safe? Who are they managing? Ask your team acorn guys why you are being paid off when sending orders to India and they have already tapped up machine shops on the valley to complete cnc work.

I joined in early NOV days and they were great times, company made money (I beleive), and growing all the time, and things were looking up. Then in 2016 new management took over (didnt last) and since then its beenincompetence after incompetence. I got out last month ahead of everyone else jumping ship. Horrible to watch but not surprising

Sad to see the site close. A real big part of my working life

Truly hope it works out for everyone. I’m sure it will.

My posts were not to be protesting the downfall of gateshead. As some make you believe. More a reflection of truth, knowledge, and… I’ll keep the “and” to myself

More importantly I’ve kept people more informed than management have

Good luck guys n gals.

I worked there a few year ago before getting paid off. To say management is poisonous is an understatement. Such a shame for the good lads who kept the place going, but tattoo, I'd worry if I were you. You fu---d that many people over through the years, no one will vouch for you if you find somewhere with an ex nov employee.
