Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is Farley a Tesla fan?

In the last Global Townhall, I was not sure if I was attending a Tesla or a Ford meeting. Our CEO was just reading boringly about Ford. The only time that I saw Farley being animated, that actually seems to care, was when talking about Tesla 3 being the best selling car in Europe and the Tesla OTA updates. Then he went back to boringly reading the rest. Am I wrong?

BTW, Farley, I am not sure we can maximize the use of electrons, but we can use them more efficiently. At least, I believe that was what you tried to convey. Also, as Oscar Wilde said, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness, but copying what Tesla does, even as it would improve Ford, would still keep the company as a second player.

One more thing. Why do I have the impression that Farley is lying when talking about Ford?

Ford under Jim Hack-it in 2017 made the huge strategic blunder of not investing in dedicated EV battery plants a move Tesla committed to years and years ago. So when it comes to EV there’s really no competition for Tesla at least for awhile because they have the needed long term range batteries the customer wants, Ford does not and will not in sufficient quantity even well after the lightning launches. Jim knows this all too well and he does his best to put a positive spin on Ford EV but the reality is no other EV maker is in the same league as Tesla.

Well, Farley has to give Elon Musk more “likes” than he gives Bill Ford…other than the big like for finally giving him the CEO job he clawed his way into

It’s where Farley wants to go next after the Ford charade ends.

Tesla is growing like gangbusters. Everyone in the industry is going to start being friendly to Tesla cause its likely their next job. Frankly I'd love to work in a fresh new factory every day and ditch tip toeing around the union drama.

I saw the same Town Hall and it was so deadpan reading off some teleprompter. It was strange indeed. Actually, the whole meeting was strange. There hasn’t been one word said about all the people who are leaving. As for him lying, I don’t trust any of the Ford leadership since Joe Hindrichs “elected to retire” which we all knew was not true.
