People abandoning Sh-trix

My LI is full of postings at Sh-trix, must be because so many people have abruptly left. The boot licking , managers are constantly posting for people to staff the sudden resignations, but nobody is taking the bait.
What a mess of incompetent management

I noticed they have hired at least 10 ex employees that left Citrix a very long time ago and have no clue how bad the leadership is nowadays.

It makes me wonder... Are they trying to bring the culture back? Or can't they find anyone else?

Micromanagement at it's finest :-).

Good luck all ex Citrites..

If they want to stop the massive bleeding of staff, they need to start replacing the leadership. IT for one has been ruined by the latest "leader" and her boss.

We are apparently on a hiring freeze till Q1, so their prayers to staff the spots likely won't be answered. In this market with what they are paying they likely won't find any one skilled, only desperate to fill the roles.

I myself will be putting in my two weeks this week. Everyone I've spoken with who's left said they feel a huge weight lifted off their shoulders when they resign. I understand that every org has it's problems, but it's apparent here the ship is sinking and everyone is scrambling to save themselves at an upper level. William Blair analyst report calls Citrix a "dire and deteriorating situation with spiraling turnover" Goes on to talk about how they traded culture, partner, and employees for some profit and screwed everyone (If you haven't seen the full report, I suggest looking it up, really hits the nail on the head on the company's current situation). It even goes on to say unless they hire solid leadership in 2021, it likely wont get better until 2023.

It has been the case for years of micromanagement with the directors and some managers apparently, especially on the sales team. They have no idea how to manage, have poor leadership skills, the VP doesn't even have sales experience. The micromanagement and lack of trust from management is a major cause of a turnover on the sales teams. We are treated like toddlers who can't close or handle business by ourselves. Not to mention the absurdly high quotas this year that only maybe 10-15% of the reps will hit and no one will hit accelerators. The only reason some FSM's, SE's and Managers haven't left is because they are on Guarantee, so they are riding it out doing the bare minimum getting paid their whole package, hoping next year will be better.

They are having trouble bringing in new talent, and now they are bringing college kids into sales roles who have little to no sales experience at lower then market rate to save money.

I agree with the post they need to gut from VP down, it's the only way they are going to get rid of that toxicity. Even one of our partners told DH it a "septic" culture and the ONLY way to fix it is gut the whole company.

"Almost all of them are unskilled, uninspiring and clueless. " Precisely this. The level of mediocrity in middle management and directors is staggering.

You look at put IT companies on his site and non of them are as bad as Citrix. The culture has hit a new low! How does HR still have a job? They also need to hire a good HR team that will help change the culture. There are so many great IT companies that are not like Citrix!! Maybe Citrix will get the hint when no one is left.

My heart bleeds, not sure how we ended up in this situation.

In the next couple of days, I will also resign.
Found a better job that seems to have normal managers. It is so hard to see how bad and toxic thing's are when you are in that loop of constant humiliation and microagression treatment.

My advice - clean the house from VP down to people managers. The organization is infected.

In contrary to many other companies that you read about on this site, Citrix has some serious problems related to human behavior and a toxic environment that encourage micro aggressive treatment of people. This will not change because you change a CEO. HR needs new guidelines...as an example.

This is also the reason a lot of the great country managers, VPs and AVPs already left they didn't support that way.

This is actually bitter but true. Rampant attrition has only led to the few good remaining talent to leave the company too. This is true for managers and ICs alike.

People in my team casually debate whether our group now sets the dubious record for the most incompetent managers, Director and VPs in the entire industry. If there was a medal for it we would surely have won it.

Almost all of them are unskilled, uninspiring and clueless. No wonder this also is leading to the the percentage of attrition to only increase as people don’t want to work with them. It’s also been difficult to hire new talent to backfill the open positions.
