Aramco Offering Lower Packages for New Hires

I recently got contacted by a friend who got an offer from Aramco. It basically was the same grade code and position as mine but 15% less than the initial offer I got 7 years ago.
At this rate it's going to be hard for them to attract any real talent.

Hi, I could benefit from your collective experience here.

I have been offered a role at Aramco, the recruiter "guessed" it was GC (X), turned out to be (X-3), I rejected it as also the money was way lower than what my gross remuneration is, they increased the Grade and the money but nowhere near what I asked for to justify the move (it follows a logical path, not a made-up number). I have doubts about this approach to recruitment; specially when all along they spoke about the long term nature of such move etc....

I work in the HQ of one of the majors, currently in a "High Potential" role and already a senior level leader. The tax free element is what attracts me, but it seems like it only going downwards from there? Grateful for your thoughts.

Love how the trolls have the spherical objects big enough to identify themselves..

Oh wait, that’s right they don’t!!!

Spherical objects must be directly proportional to size of brain…

Hi. I’m Kim Jong-un. Please forgive my trolling, as the Gender Identity Crisis is confusing me at the moment.

Glad to see the trolls are working overtime on this one!

Reminds me of that documentary “The Dissident” and the army of trolls they outed working overtime to quash any non-complaint social media activity…

Keep up the great work guys, the world knows the truth no matter how hard you may try to hide it!

It is common knowledge that the “S” in a PMP means Saudi Only; even if they do not show up for work, except to collect Recognition Awards.

You can always tell a troll when they identify themselves as “Inspector Gadget,”

Great to see the trolls are out in force…. Can spot them a mile off with their poor command of the English language and even poorer command of common sense…..

Pay peanuts get monkeys. That’s how the old saying goes isn’t it?
Trouble is, word is out what a shister outfit they are and how toxic the work environment actually is.
When the cash no longer compensated for the brain drain and damage to one’s mental health, it’s as simple as saying no.

15% lower is actually really good. In my area they hired a guy from a low wage country and paid him 50% less! Once he found this out, he basically refused to work. There have been six new hires since 2018. Only one is still at Aramco.

Haven’t we beat the the subject of lower pay & benefits packages to death?

15% less, plus more hidden tax (iqama and visa), cost of life much higher than 7 years ago, less education and health care quality, plus toxic working culture and job instability.

Tough decision.

Cost more important than talent for Aramco in 2021 and beyond.

The Company has never been able to attract any real, value-added talent. Expats coming to Saudi Aramco (now) couldn’t find a job anywhere else; making the Company the “Employer of Last Resort.”

This is not surprising. A bargaining culture for sure. Same as ancient times looking for labor in the market places of Jeddah. Same as modern times in the markets of Dammam. It is in the blood.
