@1asu, in my area they've been thrown right into the deep end. The smarter ones have realised that they will "need to confer with one of the experts" and actually say so when they're in over there heads. The mediocre ones will just say "I'll get back with you on that" before checking in with someone that can help them. Then there's the ones that will blunder through or misdirect/redirect the issue to avoid it.
Which group you think will end up being management is "left as an exercise for the reader"
