Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

How will the money be reinvested?

I guess most of the money from Permian sales will go to shareholders?

well it is all relative. they say it is going to share buybacks but if they were planning more buybacks anyway (like the 2 billion they started last quarter) then it is all show and it frees up more money to spend on far superior return projects (try not to laugh) ……

Finance structure in power and renewables is to take on debt vs traditional Shell self-finance. The big billion$ offshore wind projects are JVs with partners that debt finance. Shell will move that direction too. Give cash back to shareholders.

Share buyback = we don’t know what to do with it.

The press release was very clear - 7 out of 9.5B will be returned to shareholders via buybacks.
