Wow I couldn't have responded better. You have the right to not work somewhere if you don't like their mandates. If you want to be drunk or unvacinnated you have the freedom and the right to not work there. This company belongs to them so you can start your own company and allow people to work there drunk and unvacinnated
Noooo....You're making it political....That's you!!!! I'm making it common freaking sense.
Oh yes this makes plenty of sense. I should have the right to show up to work drunk and high every day because this is a free country. No company should tell me I can't come to work drunk because it's my right to be drunk and this is a free country......HEAR HOW THAT SOUNDS????
My opinion about my body does matter. GE does not have the right to impose this health choice on its employees. This situation does not justify taking away all our rights. We have rights in this country. Why not stand up for them instead of bullying employees you don't agree with. Be brave.
You have the right to get a new job when you are fired for not getting vaccinated. Your opinion on this doesn't matter. GE has the right to protect the health and safety of its employees and customers by mandating vaccination like every other US company is doing.
Following CDC guidelines is a dangerous proposition. It is a political organization that has no regard for freedom of choice or human rights. The choice belongs to the individual in free countries. That said, some may be angry at the unvaccinated and believe they are being judged by the unvaccinated for not taking a stand for freedom of choice. Please understand that we appreciate your right to take the vaccine as well.
I say we allow all employees choose whether they want to get vaccinated or not. Plus I would also go one step further and let the employees choose to wear masks, social distance, and wash hands. This is America, not Australia.
GE has followed CDC guidance this entire time, sometimes even being more strict than CDC guidance (see layers of safety). You guys are crazy if you think GE, who gets substantial federal contractor dollars, won't follow federal guidelines to require all employees be vaccinated. When push comes to shove, most employees will get the vaccine over losing their job. Multiple company case studies prove this.
Let's hope so.
GE Aviation knows they have an attrition problem. They know at the last status they provided in August that the vaccination rate was around 54% for the Cincinnati site.
They know they cannot afford to lose more employees. I can see them dragging their feet as long as possible. I can see them being very generous with exemptions if they are forced to implement. Let's hope they stand for freedom.
GE has the means to stand up for their employees freedom of choice on this controversial political issue. Does anyone think they will?? A serious question.
You are very wrong that the ones who leave will not be missed
The ones I know of will be very difficult to replace. Rare skill sets that take years to develope. I have tried to hire them myself. Trust me, they will be sorely missed.
heard Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon, and Sig were all doing it
Raytheon already doing it. GE doesn't have a choice as a federal contractor. United Airlines had 99% compliance to the mandate. Nobody will miss the 1% anti vax looney tunes.
I doubt it.
They can't make you do anything because you don't HAVE to work there....Choices!
agreed
Not a good idea to have some pi---d off employees working on things that fly....just saying....
