We’ve been in a transformation for what, at least 10 years now? I’m so sick of hearing that word. And now another d-mb survey on if we understand our transformation.
I certainly don’t. Has something changed since our first transformation way back when? isn’t it still cloud first or are we onto something new now? This drives me crazy.
I’d love to know what they’re paying Glint. What a great gig they’ve got going.

2rea+1d47FylM I'm sorry but SM was also a huge mistake so what makes you think he recognizes NC was a mistake? The only thing incompetent executives recognize is when a competent employee threatens to reveal their incompetence and they will do anything to fire that person first.
NC is the diversity member of the ELT. Getting rid of him will be awkward as only white straight people left.
The Dilbert strip is perfect. Since it’s from 2011, it also shows how far behind Pteradactil is when compared to competition.
Check out the Dilbert of Jan 7, 2011...

SM knows NC was a huge mistake but he’s stuck with him for awhile. It would not look good to fire him so soon. They will soon pay him a bunch of money to leave. All in, the strategy/McKinsey debacle will cost us over $30M. What do we have to show from all these strategic initiatives that suck everyone’s time and energy?
2kfk+1d47FylM Had a similar experience with a "confidential" survey. Also beware the "HR open door" policy as the only thing HR cares about is minimizing legal liability, and shooting the messenger is usually the easiest way to do that.
Surveys are not always anonymous so be careful what you say, especially in any free text comments and if you are a minority in the team or if you don’t speak English as your mother tongue.
More worryingly, there’s never any positive action taken to remedy the issues you raise so why bother completing any survey.
The last time our team completed a survey, the manager simply allocated all of the fixes to the people that raised the issues, dodging the responsibility that any leader should own. If the issues could have been fixed by empowered respondents in the first place, then you wouldn’t need a survey.
It’s much like asking for help from your manager, it only ever results in generating more work for you as you are given the actions to fix it.
Consider your silence golden.
A ‘confidential and anonymous’ survey led to my demise a few years ago.
Be. Very. Wary
When they mention the cultural transformation in the survey, to which cultural transformation are they referring? The 2014 transformation...the 2015 transformation...the 2016 transformation...the 2017 transformation...the 2018 transformation...the 2019 transformation...the 2020 transformation...the 2021 transformation?
Transformation has become a euphemism for non-performance.
Teradata is definitely transforming. Just not in the way anybody expected.
As for the survey, it's a honeypot. Don't fall for it. If you really want to let the ELT know how you feel, find a new job.
One glimmer of hope would say that they may use any result less than stellar to get rid of that farcical strategist-in-boots who has his homework done by McKinsey. Or is it just wishful thinking.
Ahhhh the infamous 'confidential & anonymous' TD employee surveys that aren't even remotely 'confidential or anonymous'. ha
One day the transformation will produce a lady and they will be the natural successor to the CEO’s office…
