Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Attrition

Anyone else noticing the attrition? I know Bakken and Eagle Ford have lost a few good people. ORB/Permian seems to be losing someone every week. I saw a few presentations from ORB, seemed like they were automating a lot of things, heard some of the people who left were behind that.

Just interesting to see the number of job postings these days.

Why wait till then. It’s not like the bonus will be life altering. Do you even know you are going to get one?

3-2-22 the first day when open floor concept will feel lonely and very private.

Good riddance to all of the quitters. MRO will be better and stronger without them, most of whom were on Facebook or on Roblox all day.

To follow up on the earlier comment, the Gas Manager is a pompous jerk. I liked the guy they had in the job before him

Another one in GSC bites the dust. How much longer until they’re embedded in the asset? I think they have more managers than IC’s at this point.

Anyone know how long you have to be at MRO or what age you have to be for the MRO pension contribution percentage go from 7% to 9% and to 11%?

People are leaving ORB because of the one person sitting behind the stained glass and closed door and the person sitting next to him. They both have created moral issues that are horrible, but are given credit for success that was already here before they were brought in from other assets.

Is the Bakken Engineering team even the worst one?

Prior list is missing:

1x Assistant Treasurer
1x Finance Manager
1x Production Superintendent (Permian)
2x Planning Analysts
1x Finance Analyst
1x Planning Supervisor

And more to come I'm sure.

As long as the bakken gas(bag) manager doesn't leave, we'll be ok. How would we ever survive without him? /s

Over the past few months I've seen leave:
1x Drilling Engineer
1x Completions Engineer
3x Production Engineer
2x Asset Geologist
2x GSC category managers

Missing anyone?

I think I know who you are referring to that left in ORB. I saw some those presentations as well, it was pretty impressive work that I heard saved a lot of money. Can't believe they let him and some of the other recent departures walk out the door.

I've heard there is a lot of conflict in ORB in Ops.

Bakken leadership is horrible to begin with (in the last 1.5yrs), especially in production engineering.
