@6cdv - I try to avoid mentioning the grandiose conspiracies of the Great Reset and covid being one of the several factors to make it happen since it causes most to stop listening to logic, regardless of the many points that suggest it could be a possibility. Those that want to know more will look into it, those who don't will stop listening. It's like telling a young man that his girl friend may be cheating on him.... he's not going to listen until he's ready to, which is after he's figured it out for himself.

I see our societal response to covid to be tremendously like the medieval response to the bubonic plague. The fear drove society to a wide range of actions, all almost entirely ineffective, that seemed to them highly logical based on their world view. The details may be different, but we're repeating both the isolation and mask wearing that failed for them. The way the vaxes are being pushed seems comes across as the masses seeing them much like a magic talisman, regardless of their effectiveness. Why else push them on those who have recovered and naturally experienced the same physiological reaction that the vaccines try to stimulate?

TL;DR - us humans are completely irrational when we experience fear the face of unknown threats.

@5ezv - for some of us the concern the concern is our privacy. Ford says that they can't ask us since they aren't covered by HIPAA, which also means they aren't subject to the same strong penalties for sharing that is provided by HIPAA.

Hourly employees will end up being exempt. There will be some excuse presented, but Ds don't want to alienate their union base.

Many of the non-trouble making sheeple who took the so called vax they may unfortunately get an involuntary separation from what good health they had before they became subjects of an experimental genetic therapy with no long term safety data. A so called vaccine that protects them from mostly from the totalitarian government and social mob.

Heck yes I reported my vax status. It's a freaking competitive advantage. You know darn well that when they are making up the list of involuntary separations, you bet they will be checking the vax list to get rid of the trouble makers that will make getting back in the office. The anti vax won't have to quit, Ford will take care of that for them before the end of the year with an involuntary separation as a Christmas gift.

UAW and USPS have union contracts that would need to be renegotiated to add the "vaccine" requirement.

When the totalitarians start requiring "vaccines" to buy groceries and/or leave your house then even people with strong union contracts will be pressured to take the clot shot.

I assume the UAW is not included because issues related to vaccination status would fall under their contract, so it will take a lot more effort to coerce them than the non-union workers. I am sure they will eventually try to push it to them, too.

I am not bashing the UAW here. Keep in mind they work in the plants physically when we have chips. But that survey that HR just sent out Mentions Salaried / Agency / Purchased services only. Is there any reason why the UAW was left out? Do they have a different strain of COVID? Maybe COVID 21 That we are not aware of1
Why are they left out? This sounds like discrimination to me. Keep in mind most of the salaried workers in SE Michigan work form home and will continue. So why are they targeted? This BS Hybrid program stating we need to meet together to be more creative is pure "BS". Since web x how many of you have had in person meetings.. Not many... @1iei they are counting on a large portion of US workers retiring/resigning. They are massively gearing up in India. I am aware of 350 US IT F and FC workers who were just told to find new positions in the company after having trained Indian replacements ( and conveniently after the VSSP window had closed). There aren’t 350 Jobs online that they are “qualified” for. Our department head told us that 100 IT took the VSSP, and that the marching orders are to backfill those positions in India. So where will those 350 workers go? F is likely hoping they retire or resign so they don’t have to pay severance.
With the pandemic my social sphere is limited so my guess is that 350 is just a small portion of the US workers F wants to eliminate.
Oh but Alexandria got a promotion so we are good.

Wonder if the company has done any calculations about how many people will just up and retire if they go the next step and require the vax....this really worries me.

Based on the posts here and on the company's own internal web site (where the company disabled comments less than a day after the article about the mandates - which by the way are not law, and could be fought by Ford if they wanted to fight them), my high level napkins estimates say probably at least 40% of employees are against, and it could go up even to near 50%. Thrown in that likely fact at least half or more of those people are retirement eligible, and by years end or early 2022 Ford could find itself with 3,000 to 5,000 less people in a short period of time- and this does not even account for the blue collar factory workers, which again about 40% of them could retire, too, and than number could easily double.

Yes, Ford wants get rid of more people - but not that many all at once. It would literally ki-l the company. America has a rapidly aging workforce - multiple the Ford impact of going along with this mandate by 500 to 1,000 companies, and it would be a very nasty picture for the US of A. There are literally shortages of workers everywhere, it would only get worse by a factor of ten. All of us should be worried, and all employers should push back on this mandate for that reason alone.

@1udh+1d2KQFU4, it's at the behest of the federal govt but is forcing private companies to do the enforcement, that's the concern.

If it's for workplace safety where co-workers mingle why would Ford need to enforce the mandate on those who have been doing full-time remote work successfully for 18 months straight now? A less unreasonable policy would be that those who must work on site or physically interact with others are required to be vaxxed.
