Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

What You Deserve

If you haven't left UP yet after they showed you who they really were, you deserve whatever they do to you. Capitalism gives them the right to put shareholders first, and treat us like garbage, but it also gives you the right to find a place that won't. Yes change is difficult, but is it more difficult than what they're putting you through? I don't think so. I actually know so because I had the stones to leave on my own free will, and it's much better without Union Pacific.

Really? You think it's a conspiracy so furloughed guys can come back to a toxic hellhole? Hahaha. You especially deserve what happens to your job in the future. Have fun with 1 man crews!

Why would it be "fake"? You really think there aren't any better options? Sure the company "needs" employees, but do they act like it? Do you enjoy being treated like a piece of garbage day in, day out? Is your self esteem so bad that you tolerate it because you figure, this is the best you can do? That's 100% ON YOU. Relocate. Take a class. Go to passenger service. You ultimately control your own destiny. Stop being a slave to a corporation that doesn't give a sh-t about you. We've all been wronged by this company, which is why a lot of people come here to blow off steam. I get it. I'm one of them. I went to passenger service because of the retirement. You can do whatever you want outside of this company, and find happiness, unless you're a lazy POS.

You do realize that the UP actually needs employees right? If everyone had the "stones to leave" and left, then the UP would be in some serious trouble. The people that have left or were laid off have experience in the field. I'm not saying all of them were good employees, but a lot of them had valuable experience. OK you left, so what. I'm happy for you. Leaving the company isn't an option for some people because of their location or a number of other things. I don't see the point of starting a post that is essentially calling people out as being cowards for not leaving the company. Will quitting the company be the best thing for everyone to do? I can't speak for everyone on that. I know it wasn't the greatest move I did. Yes change is difficult, but what some have gone through was worse than if they stayed. Just something for you think about.

We don't need another fake "I left UP and everything is wonderful now" post.

This post has almost nothing to do with capitalism. He's just saying you're free to leave whenever you'd like to in a free market. Why don't you mo--ns understand that?
