Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Exhausted

We have a corporate visit this week and had people flying in from San Fran and coming in from other stores to help clean up our s-show. Everyone has been working themselves silly and we have so many open jobs and people call out all the time. Why not just give us more money, stores down the road have a minimum wage of $15 because of city law, but we are still paid $2 an hour less just because our city doesn't have the same law. Company can't afford to give us a raise but no problem flying people in from halfway across the country to make it look good for a visit? Anybody care about help for the people who work here or the customers? Just making it look good for the higher ups, they should see how it really looks the rest of the time. Pay more so we can get people to work here.

I feel same way. Our OVM quit while we’re doing huge move for whole store. Cuz corporate visit is ridiculous. I never seen this much move after move. And on the top of that they have idea for move. But they didn’t think deep enough. So nothing work. They need plan things, figure out what equipment we have. Otherwise Look like s**t every where. So tired of this.

Never Be Second. It's a tough district to be in. They live the Ricky Bobby life. If you ain't first, you're last.

Considering where your help came from, expect that we have the same visitors this week. Be happy that you got help, we didn't get any we had to move and paint so much and ours that the store manager quit when he heard about the visit and half of the executives went on vacation to avoid it, so we are all tired and waiting to find out where we have to move more stuff around, it is exhausting.

There are millions of open jobs and employers are more interested in hiring people who have been working thru the pandemic rather then the lazy people sitting home for a year and a half collecting free money. If you aren’t happy with the pay demand a RAISE, if they don’t want to give it to you threaten to go else where. Right now the power is in the Employees hands. Won’t be for long though

These cooperate visits are a joke! Upper management needs to stop with the smoke and mirrors. Find another gig that you feel appreciated and you are paid accordingly! Get out, now!!

I’m in the southwest market and we feel the same way. Our small support staff is so exhausted. We’re constantly being forced to do floor moves that make no sense so we end up moving the same things several times. It’s ridiculous
