So why does JPMC feel the need to have people back in the office? Perhaps they want to experience some attrition so they don’t have to RIF and deal with severance pay out? Have they not yet realized that some of the intelligent talent will be the first to go? Maybe they simply don’t care if their employees go to their competitors.

I found a lower paying job where I can work remote. With the savings in gas, tires, insurance and wear on the car I may come out ahead. I could take a bigger cut in pay but know some day I’ll need to buy another car thus I’m saving for that now.
Banks finance buildings, if buildings are empty, there is major financial exposure. It's just that simple. Google, Amazon, everyone not a bank and leave a building and eventually save money, with banks, it's not that simple.
Tbh, I can live off of my side hustle and can quit Jp. I will just live frugally and below my means so I have the power to say a hard no to my manager if he force me to rtto since I don’t really need this job to pay bills. For those that still rely solely on this job and suck at saving money, tsk tsk....
Senior leadership doesn’t even want to work in the office full time, so it’s only a matter of time before more and more people are allowed to work from home on a permanent basis.
If you have many years of service, hang on for the RIFF. What I did, make them pay you to get a better job! Dreams can come true, it happened to me.
i need to keep applying thru leave management so i may continue to work from home. i’m extremely high risk and i’m just waiting to be denied to continue working from home and return to office. i have also received a few e-mails that people in my area of the office have tested positive for covid. i also chose not to disclose my vaccine status and now need to start testing for covid weekly and reporting results even tho i’m working from home. i’d be lying if i didn’t say i wasn’t actively looking for employment alternatives after many years of service.
hit the nail on the head... the company doesn't care and the talent that is worth anything is out there entertaining other offers
Maybe you’re right. I think I’ll update my resume and start looking for remote work opportunities.
Of course they don't care.
I don't want to go back.
Maybe....you go work there instead ??
