"...staying on only for healthcare benefits." Are you kidding? CommScope "healthcare benefits" are the worst I've experienced at any company. If you're staying for that, you are clueless.

Employees in their 50s and 60s have a wealth of knowledge and the job market is good. Those who are not retiring are being actively recruited by other companies.

Last comment is exactly the issue. A large number of employees are staying on only for healthcare benefits. The paycheck is nice but most of them are in a good position to retire comfortably having spent 15-20 years at the same company (through acquisitions). Over paid, bloated VPs reporting to VP middle management that is only concerned with doing as little as possible and job preservation (at the sacrifice of company growth). Cost centers like legal and finance (especially legal) is loaded with VPs who serve no value other than to push to spend money outsourcing work but still retaining a team as if none of the work was outsourced. Anyone who isn’t close to retirement or who can find better work elsewhere seems to be jumping ship. Just the VPs obsessed with their title and perks are sticking around and doing 3 hours of work a week.

Attrition won't happen especially because legacy ARRIS is full of employees who are in their 50s and 60s who have been around for 20 years or from the old Motorola regime. These guys are just hanging on to a paycheck as long as they can and will probably retire if they get laid off. Attrition will definitely not happen here.
