So much for all the “praise” of Goeckeler strategy and leadership. He has been a horrific CEO who was booted from Cisco along with his tag a longs who have hurt peoples careers and devastated our culture. Never cared about the people of Weatern Digital just st-----g his own ego. Time to boot him.

I think WD should of sold WD branded storage array solutions. Like net app and Pure Storage, not just the drives inside.
We sold off some BUs that had these products. The old guard didn’t know what to do with them. Maybe DG will make it happen! Then we will see our stock go up.
While most of the companies are in all time highs, WD never saw the all times high and now is falling like a rock.
I'm not a hater, just describing things as they are.
Finally, a breath of fresh air. You don't have to like everything about where you work but you don't have to beat other people down if they don't agree with you. On this site, if you aren't a hater you might as well not even try to say what you think. I down voted the original post.

There is no vision or strategy for growth because he's hired outsiders to run the company. They're just custodians of the business not visionaries. Whatever the stock price is today was built into the company before he joined but he's taking credit for "execution". The real litmus test is when the storage business encounters headwinds which are coming next year. If you fool yourself into thinking you are changing something significant when you are really just riding tailwinds, you're in for a fall when times get lean. Storage industry is cyclical, we've seen this over and over.
